Agriculture

Tradition and innovation are the two inseparable souls of the agriculture of Torre a Cenaia.
The methods of the ancient Tuscan tradition meet here new technologies to take full advantage of the resources of the territory without plunder their wealth and respecting the environment.
The 500 hectares of the Estate are home to crops, vineyards, ancient forests of oaks, marsh areas, vegetable gardens: the natural inclinations of the territory are attended at their best. In this way we can maintain a perfect balance between man and nature without compromising the future of our land.

The cultures of barley, sunflowers, corn, sorghum, canola, alfalfa and wheat are alternated with fallow. The alternation of cultures allows the intelligent use and natural soil, with a drastic reduction in the use of pesticides. This allows us to protect and preserve the rich diversity of habitats of the Estate, which are home to a rich native fauna thanks to which we can also repopulate the surrounding area.

The recent establishment of 17 hectares of certified organic cultures, managed in collaboration with Azienda Agricola BioColombini of Crespina, and the start of the biological management of the vineyards are the natural development of the agricultural and environmental policy of the Estate attentive to the challenges of the future.
