Lying at the feet of the Pisan hills and dominated by the millenary Tower-House, Torre a Cenaia Estate has been for centuries the benchmark of the wine production of this fertile land, which has one of the most suitable soil and climate area of the western Tuscany. Ancient property of the Florentine Pitti family, it reflects the heritage handing down to posterity the pride and the noble history, embodied today in wines with a unique personality, deeply tuscan.

Torre del Vajo is a Supertuscan born by a famous Italian winemaker and it’s the result of a rigorous selection of three noble grapes – Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah – that best express their taste features thanks to a long refinement in Allier oak tonneaux.

Terrain: Medium clay mixture

Harvest: Sangiovese: early October; Syrah: last ten days of September; Cabernet Sauvignon: last week of October

Vinification: Cold prefermetation and maceration, fermetation in vitrified cement vats at controlled temperature for 20-25 days. Malolactic fermentation in vitrified cement vats

Refinement: Part in vitrified cement vats and part in Allier oak tonneaux medium toasted for 12 months

Refinement in bottle: 12 months

Alcohol: 14% vol

Tasting: Intense red ruby with violet reflexes. Complex and intense aromas of balsamic notes and berry fruits with a velvety taste and a soft structure

Food pairing: It goes well with roasted and grilled meats, game meats, mushrooms and aged cheeses

Service temperature: 18-20 °C
